Tom Cruise was shooting for the final installment of the ‘Mission: Impossible’ franchise.

A video of Tom Cruise shooting a scene for his upcoming film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2, has surfaced online that shows the actor talking to the audience while sitting on a bi-plane – one of the three that are part of the scene. According to TMZ, it is a public service announcement (PSA) that Tom Cruise filmed a while back. The clip was shown at CinemaCon earlier this year ahead of the Top Gun: Maverick screening.

The video shows Mr Cruise standing on a red bi-plane holding to nothing but a rig and talking into the camera. Soon, a yellow plane emerges from behind with a message for the actor. A third plane is shooting the entire scene.

Midway through his speech, Mr Cruise is interrupted by director Christopher McQuarrie, who reminds him that they are losing daylight and need to keep shooting.

As the clip ends, the actor signs off by saying he will see everyone at the movies. Both the planes then nosedive but Mr Cruise is seen standing during the maneuver.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two is the eighth and final installment of the franchise. The plot has so far been kept under wraps.

Both Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning movies got delayed multiple times due to COVID-19, with Part One now set for July 14, 2023, and Part Two currently slated for June 28, 2024.

In May, Paramount Pictures released the official trailer for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. It hinted at the return of Henry Czerny, who played IMF director Eugene Kittridge in the original 1996 film. Fans can expect a slew of insane globe-trotting action sequences, including one where the titular character Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) rides a motorcycle off a cliff and skydives into the abyss.
